GUAYUSA

The leaves of this holly tree native to the upper Amazon basin are considered a sacred teaching plant. In addition to its use in ceremony, Guayusa is used by indigenous people of Ecuador to fight fatigue, give strength and sharpen one’s senses. Its ability to boost stamina, mood and focus can be attributed in part to its caffeine content, however, the experience of Guayusa, often described as smooth, euphoric energy, is very different from coffee or isolated caffeine*. This is because Guayusa has a unique chemical profile that helps balance the intensity of the caffeine and offers complementary benefits.*

CACAO

Cacao’s ability to induce transcendent experiences earned the plant its divine status —” food of the gods”— amongst the ancient Maya and Aztecs civilizations. Its chemistries are as intriguing as its history, showing potential in preclinical studies to support the same reward chemistries the brain releases during exercise, namely dopamine, anandamide, and endorphins.*

TURMERIC

Brilliance - in color, chemistry and effects – best describes this cornerstone of Ayurveda traditionally used to strengthen the body and soothe inflammation.  Scientists attribute much of turmeric’s properties, including its ability to support recovery after exercise and relieve muscle soreness, to a group of chemistries called curcuminoids.*  While known to be difficult to absorb, our advanced delivery technology significantly enhances curcuminoid absorption, ensuring efficacy at a low dose.

LEMON VERBENA

Light as a lemon is the essence of lemon verbena. The leaves of intensely lemon-scented leaves of this shrub native South America have traditionally been used for joy, relaxation and pain relief. One of its most abundant and researched chemistries, called verbascoside, has been shown in lab studies to be a powerful modulator of oxidative stress, which is important for muscle recovery.* Preclinical studies also show effects on GABA receptors, which play a role in maintaining a blissful mood.*

BLACK PEPPER

Considered the King of Spice, the dried fruits of the black pepper plant don’t just awaken our palates, they infuse our whole body with their active chemistries.  Wise to its health benefits, our ancient ancestors used black pepper to relieve muscle pain.  Our unique extraction process concentrates beta-caryophyllene – a plant chemistry that activates the human endocannabinoid system and is credited with many of the non-psychoactive health benefits of cannabis.*

HIMALAYAN SEA SALT

Himalayan Sea Salt was formed around 250 million years ago when a seabed in Pakistan was covered by lava. The water slowly evaporated, leaving behind expansive deposits of sodium and other trace minerals naturally present in the pure, ancient ocean. Sodium is a critical electrolyte for maintaining fluid balance, nerve function, and muscle contractions.* It is the main electrolyte lost during sweating, so it is important to maintain an adequate balance before and after physical activity.*
